DENVER (KDVR) — After less than a day as a free agent, Shilo Sanders signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his father, Deion Sanders, “can’t wait.”

The National Football League hosted the 2025 draft starting on April 24, where a few days went by before Shedeur Sanders was the No. 144 pick in the fifth round to the Cleveland Browns. While Shio wasn’t drafted, he didn’t spend a long time as an undrafted free agent.

On April 26, the NFL announced that the former University of Colorado Buffaloes’ safety, Shilo Sanders, was signing with the Buccaneers. This announcement came the same day Shedeur was drafted.

Shilo is heading out of the mountains and toward the ocean to play with the Bucs, and his father and former coach, Deion Sanders, responded to the news on Wednesday.

Deion’s Instagram post included a screenshot from @blacklovepage that announced Shilo had signed a three-year, $2.96 million rookie contract with the Bucs.

“I’m so Proud of @shilosanders! He’s focused, dedicated & hungry. I can’t wait to see the product he puts on the field. They have a REAL PURPOSE & yall know why. #Dad.CoachPrime,” Deion said in an Instagram post.

Now, Sanders has two kids heading into their first year with the NFL. However, Deion’s not going anywhere. In March, Coach Prime extended his contract with the CU Buffs for another four years.
