As the Tennessee Titans transition from coaching search to roster building, they will be on the hunt for players who can help turn Tennessee into a championship-caliber organization.
With significant needs at cornerback, edge, and wide receiver, this will be a challenge. But with significant salary cap space and draft capital, Tennessee will be in a position to add some impact players during the offseason.
While there is no exact blueprint on how they will attack the roster, Ryan Smith of Pro Football Focus (PFF) believes they will start by addressing one hole in free agency.
Tennessee TitansBiggest Need: EDGETarget: EDGE Odafe Oweh, Los Angeles Chargers
The Titans boast elite talent on the interior defensive line in All-Pro Jeffery Simmons (88.3 PFF overall grade) and T’Vondre Sweat (83.4), but they desperately need some help on the edge. Arden Key (56.7 PFF pass-rush grade) and Jihad Ward (56.4) ranked 93rd and 95th, respectively, out of 110 qualifying edge defenders in PFF pass-rush grade in 2025. As a team, the Titans ranked 28th in pressure rate (19%).
Tennessee may look to the free-agent market to address the hole, as no team has more cap space in the NFL. Oweh split his 2025 season between the Ravens and Chargers and had his best season as a pro rushing the passer, earning a cumulative 81.0 PFF pass-rush grade, 15th best among qualifying edge defenders.
With Oweh in the mix, the Titans would have one of the best defensive lines in the NFL for new head coach Robert Saleh.
You could argue that cornerback is a bigger need, but edge would be a close second, and Oweh could make an impact up front. Outside of Jeffery Simmons, Tennessee has struggled with pressure for multiple seasons and must change that in 2026.

General manager Mike Borgonzi took a swing with second-round pick Femi Oladejo, but he is far from a certainty after struggling early and then finishing the season on injured reserve. Jaylen Harell made some strides late in the season, but the Titans need more impact players for Robert Saleh’s defense.
