The Philadelphia Eagles, one day after hiring Sean Mannion as their offensive coordinator, have added to their staff again. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Josh Grizzard joins Nick Sirianni’s staff. He was formerly the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator.
Jordan Schultz reported on Thursday that Philadelphia held a second interview with Grizzard. Last January, he was promoted to offensive coordinator as Liam Coen’s replacement. The former previously served as pass game coordinator in Tampa. The latter left town to take over as Jacksonville Jaguars head coach. Here’s more from Schefter:
“More help in Philadelphia: Eagles are hiring former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard as their pass game coordinator, per sources. Grizzard now will join new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion to lead Philadelphia’s offense.”
It’s worth mentioning that the Buccaneers’ attack regressed statistically in 2025. They finished 21st in total offense. Baker Mayfield went 8-9 as a starter, completing 63.5% of his pass attempts while throwing for 26 TDs versus 11 interceptions.
There are also positives, and they must be mentioned. Josh Grizzard was responsible for the Buccaneers’ third-down play calling in 2024. That season, they led the NFL with a 51.1% conversion rate.

Context matters. Results are more important. Grizzard steps into a supporting role rather than carrying the full weight of an offense, and that distinction is important.
Paired with Sean Mannion, this hire suggests the Eagles are building a collaborative structure instead of betting the farm on a single voice. Both bring ingenuity, something Birds fans and the Philadelphia media have desired for quite some time.
