CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) — Clovis High School has introduced Brandon Nagle as its new head football coach, turning to a familiar face to lead a program coming off a strong season.

Nagle takes over a Cougars team that went 10-3 last year and reached the Central Section final.

He replaces the previous leadership after serving as an assistant on last season’s coaching staff.

The move marks a return to Nagle’s roots. A 2001 graduate of Clovis High School, he played for the Cougars under coach Tim Simons and now steps into the top role at his alma mater.

“Makes me a little emotional. Playing here, graduating here and now getting the chance to be the head coach at my alma mater, it’s pretty special,” Nagle said.

Nagle brings prior head coaching experience to the position.

Beginning in the 2020-21 season, he led Clovis East High School for four seasons. During that span, his Timberwolves teams compiled 31 wins.

Last season at Clovis High, Nagle worked as an assistant coach on a team that featured Fresno State signee Deagan Rose.

Now, he said, the focus shifts to preparing a new group of Cougars looking to maintain the traditions that have defined the program.

“They’ve got a lot of work ahead of them and so I think they’re all excited to get started and get it going and I think they’re hungry for someone that understands the program and the traditions and I think that’s what they’re most excited about,” Nagle said.

Nagle has spent more than 25 years coaching football in the Valley. In addition to his time at Clovis East, he’s also coach at Reedley High School and Bullard High School.
