As the NFL offseason starts to get fully going, there are going to be a lot of eyes on the Miami Dolphins and how they handle the situation with star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Over the last few years, there have been trade rumors around Hill in Miami, but to this point, the organization has held off moving him.
*PREDICTION*
Miami is looking to start fresh heading into the 2026 season, and after changing the general manager and head coach, Hill could be next. With former Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley coming in to be the next head coach, Hill’s future with the organization remains a big talking point.
Not only did Hill suffer a brutal injury this season, but his play has started to decline a little in recent years. This could push the Dolphins to look to either trade him or release him outright as a salary cap casualty this offseason.
If the Dolphins did decide to release Hill, they could save around $22.9 million against the cap, which could be a motivating factor in how the team plays this out. But losing an All-Pro talent like Hill for nothing can be a tough pill to swallow, so the Dolphins will have a tough decision to make.
This past season, Hill only played in four games before he suffered his injury, posting 21 catches for 265 yards and one touchdown. The veteran fully broke out with the Dolphins in 2023, posting 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns, showing the incredible impact he can make on the field.
Hill has been one of the biggest speed threats in the entire NFL over the past few years, and he has brought some pop to the Miami offense, but it may be time for them to move on from each other. But how this will look remains unknown, and Hill will be one of the bigger dominoes needed to fall this offseason in the league.

Tyreek Hill Sent to Denver Broncos
If the Dolphins don’t end up releasing Hill, a trade could potentially work out between the two sides. One team that may have a lot of interest in adding him to the mix is the Denver Broncos, who are coming off a tough end to an incredible season.
Denver reached the AFC Championship Game, but unfortunately for them, they played the game without starting quarterback Bo Nix. The Broncos could lose to the New England Patriots, but throughout the year, the offense was a little inconsistent, which is something that this team may look to upgrade on.
Putting the speedster that is Hill into this offense could unlock a lot for Denver, and it would help Nix out as well. Pairing him with Cortland Sutton would give the Broncos one of the better wide receiver duos in the NFL, and opposing defenses would have trouble covering them.
Denver knows Hill well from his time with the rival Kansas City Chiefs, and landing him this offseason could change everything for this franchise. The 2026 season will be Super Bowl or bust for the Broncos after the success of this year, and Hill could be perfect to help them get over the hump.
