Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is entering the offseason with mixed emotions.

Buffalo’s 2025 playoff run ended in the Divisional Round after a 33–30 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos. The defeat closed a season that again showed Allen’s talent and toughness.

The Bills opened the postseason with a 27–24 Wild Card road win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. One week later, they fell in Denver despite Allen throwing for 283 yards and three touchdowns. Four turnovers proved costly, as Denver turned those mistakes into nine points. The loss marked another painful ending for a team with high hopes.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Allen reflected on what lies ahead. He said his offseason plans will balance recovery, football work, and family life.

“I mean, to the best of our abilities, but I’ve known this from well in advance,” Allen said. “I’ve got a lot of- I’ve got siblings that have kids. I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids, and I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance. So I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad.

“It’s something that I will take with great pride. And we’re gonna have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else.”

Allen also shared that becoming a father is now his top priority.

“But this is – this is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, is being a dad,” Allen said. “And I know, I love being a, a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, but I’m looking forward to this one.”

Allen and his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, are expecting their first child in Spring 2026. The couple announced the pregnancy in December and married last May in California.

On the football side, Allen is recovering from surgery on his right foot. Ian Rapoport reported an eight-to-ten week recovery timeline, putting him on track for OTAs. Allen also noted he will keep refining his process to become a better quarterback.

“I’m going to continue to work on my process and continue to try to find ways to be the best quarterback that I can be,” Allen said.

Allen finished the season with 3,668 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. The Bills went 12–5 and stayed among the AFC’s top teams. As the offseason begins, Allen faces change, healing and a new role at home.
