Although there has been no reported movement on Robert Saleh’s defensive coaching staff, that doesn’t mean all is silent on the coaching front.

On Saturday, the Titans added another offensive assistant to the mix when they hired Cade Knox to replace Rob Riederer as the primary game management assistant. With the official title of offensive assistant/game management, he will be the game-day in-box advisor to Saleh, with a focus on timeouts and challenges.

This is a familiar position for Knox, who served in the same capacity for Brian Daboll in New York from 2022 through 2025.

While this hiring may not cause a buzz, the importance of the position and what type of impact a birdseye view from the box can have can’t be understated. Over the past two seasons, Brian Callahan struggled to get things right on the sidelines, and his in-game management and overall football knowledge were often questioned post-game during press availabilities and on social media.
