The 2026 NFL offseason is barely underway for most teams, but the Jacksonville Jaguars have some early wins under their belt.
Year 1 under James Gladstone and Liam Coen provided the Jaguars with a sharp turnaround as they were propelled to 13 wins and the AFC South title.
A strong foundation was established in 2025, providing a jumping-off point for 2026, and these three early offseason victories will further propel that cause.
Jaguars retain Anthony Campanile and Grant Udinski
Both Jaguars’ coordinators were up for multiple head coaching gigs this offseason. This included Udinski being a finalist in Cleveland and Campanile a finalist in Arizona.

However, the Jaguars announced earlier this week that both will return for 2026 — a big win for Jacksonville.
The continued continuity in scheme moving forward can be a catalyst behind both the offensive and defensive units taking another step forward this year, along with further advancing the players’ development.
Jaguars will stay the course with Travis Hunter
Just as Hunter’s role on offense, specifically, was going to expand last season, he suffered a season-ending knee injury. However, the plan moving forward is to continue utilizing him on both offense and defense.
“We still expect him to play on both sides of the ball,” Gladstone said during his end-of-season press conference.
Naturally, there was a learning curve last year for Hunter, as he transitioned to the NFL and for the Jaguars as they navigated having him play on both sides of the ball. But Coen and Co. will use that information learned to press onward rather than taking a step back.
This was always going to be an endeavor that took time, and deviating from it shouldn’t be in play for the Jaguars. Hunter is a special talent, and the Jaguars have the opportunity to maximize those abilities.
Brian Picucci added to the coaching staff
Picucci is joining Coen’s staff as the run game coordinator. The two worked together previously at Kentucky and during the 2024 season in Tampa Bay. That year, the Bucs had one of the most productive rushing offenses in football.
As good as things were for the Jaguars’ offense down the stretch last season, the run game struggled to get going. The Jaguars finished the season ranked 27th in yards per rush as a team.
Getting that element going and then pairing it with how well Trevor Lawrence and the passing game were operating will make defending this Jaguars’ offense even more difficult. Picucci can help enhance that run game element.
