With the free agency period a little over a month away, Pro Football Focus recently identified 15 players with realistic landing spots that make sense for the player, the new team and that should increase the player’s fantasy value.

The Chargers were named the best landing spot for Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed.

Here is what PFF said about the potential pairing:

If he leaves the Seahawks, one fun landing spot would be with Mike McDaniel and the Los Angeles Chargers. McDaniel’s offense with the Miami Dolphins was built on speed. Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill are two of the top five wide receivers with the highest average max speed when running a route over the last four seasons.

While Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are faster than the average receiver, Shaheed ranks among the top-15 wide receivers in average max speed over the last four seasons. Shaheed in McDaniel’s offense would have the chance to be something special, even though he would also have notable competition for targets in the Chargers’ offense.

The Chargers have a solid core of pass-catchers heading into next season between Ladd McConkey, Tre Harris, Quentin Johnston, and Oronde Gadsden II. But this positional group could benefit greatly from a speed element in offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel’s system.

Shaheed offers a field-stretching vertical threat and a chess piece to use on jet sweeps and misdirection end-around runs. Additionally, they have a clear need for a game-changing returner to boost their special teams unit.

Shaheed was brought in midseason to bolster a Seattle receiving corps and special teams, and the acquisition has paid dividends. He earned his second Pro Bowl selection in 2025 as a returner. Shaheed recorded a 100-yard kickoff return touchdown in Week 14 and a 58-yard punt return touchdown in Week 15.

Shaheed’s offensive production with the Seahawks has been modest, recording 15 receptions for 188 yards and six carries for 74 yards. But he’s proven to be a threat on the offensive side of the ball, as evidenced by his 138 catches for 2,055 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns during his time with the Saints.

While the Seahawks may prioritize re-signing him following his role in their Super Bowl run, the Chargers’ significant cap space and the arrival of McDaniel make them a prime destination for the 27-year-old.
