THE CENTER WAS ENTIRELY FUNDED BY DONATIONS, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIREFIGHTERS WENT HEAD TO HEAD ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD TODAY. IT WAS ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE. TODAY, THE 52ND ANNUAL GUNS AND HOSES CHARITY GAME, ALSO KNOWN AS THE PIG BOWL, TOOK PLACE AT HEART HEALTH PARK. RESPONDERS SAY THEY ENJOY GIVING BACK WHILE GETTING TO INTERACT WITH THE COMMUNITIES THAT THEY SERVE IN A DIFFERENT WAY. IT’S A GREAT EVENT FOR THE COMMUNITY TO COME OUT AND SEE LAW ENFORCEMENT IN A DIFFERENT LIGHT, AND TO INTERACT AND MINGLE WITH FIRST RESPONDERS AS A WHOLE. IT’S JUST A GREAT EVENT. Sacramento-area law enforcement and firefighters compete in annual charity football game

Law enforcement and firefighters went head to head on the football field at Heart Health Park for the 52nd annual “Guns and Hoses Charity Game,” also known as the “Pig Bowl,” to raise money for local charities. First responders said they enjoy giving back while interacting with the communities they serve in a different way. “We need more positive outcomes…just like them,” one participant said.
