Announced on his social media on Sunday afternoon following a successful official visit, 2026 linebacker Ndi Etta has committed to the Michigan Wolverines.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder is the younger brother of Michigan defensive lineman Enow Etta. He plays high school ball at Liberty Christian in Argyle, Texas and compiled 68 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles and 20+ quarterback pressures as a senior this past year.
Etta is the second prospect to commit to Michigan’s 2026 class following the hire of new head coach Kyle Whittingham, joining three-star defensive back Ernest Nunley, who committed back on Jan. 20. Both of Michigan’s latest commitments are expected to sign on Wednesday during the February signing period for 2026 class members.
Interestingly enough, the former coaching staff at Michigan offered him in December, so the new coaching staff must have liked what they saw out of him to continue recruiting him. Per On3’s Ethan McDowell, Michigan recruited Etta to play outside linebacker/defensive end, so it appears the Wolverines were able to secure a versatile defensive prospect right before signing day.
The Wolverines now have 23 recruits committed to their 2026 class, with 21 already signed.
