The San Francisco 49ers have had to make a coaching change already this offseason, with defensive coordinator Robert Saleh leaving to become the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

On Sunday, the 49ers hired Raheem Morris to take over as defensive coordinator. While that may have been a smart hire, it may lead to another coach’s departure from San Francisco.

According to the MMQB’s Albert Breer, 49ers assistant head coach Gus Bradley, who was up for the defensive coordinator job, may be on the move. Breer wrote onSunday that “the Titans or Cardinals could hire him as DC, with Arizona having the edge of making him play-caller.”

Both would be good opportunities for Bradley to get back into the role after a year with the 49ers. He’s been a defensive coordinator four times in the past, including stints with the Seattle Seahawks (2009-12), Los Angeles Chargers (2017-20), Las Vegas Raiders (2021) and Indianapolis Colts (2022-24).

Many players on San Francisco’s roster shared positive feelings about Bradley throughout the year, so this would be a big loss if he does go elsewhere.
