A report from California notes that the San Francisco 49ers had some interest in Schwartz, but the belief is he will be sticking in Cleveland:

At this point, it looks like the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and Tennessee Titans still have defensive coordinator openings, along with the Browns. Schwartz may be interested in one or all of those positions, but Cleveland does not seem likely to let him out of his contract and can block any more that isn’t for a head coaching position.

Given the limited reports and rumors around the Browns defensive coaches, it seems that Monken is content to wait for Schwartz to make a decision. Could that change? Certainly, but for now, it looks like Cleveland’s defense could have its leader back in 2026.

What do you think happens with Jim Schwartz and the Browns? Do you think he should return or is it a bad idea for the team and Monken?
