In his first season with the New York Giants, quarterback Jaxson Dart put together strong numbers. He completed 216 of 339 passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also rushed for 487 yards and nine touchdowns.
The first-round pick out of Ole Miss is even a finalist for the Associated Press’ Offensive Rookie of the Year award. However, the Giants have seen considerable change during his short time in New York.

Brian Daboll was fired on Nov. 10 following a 2-8 start. Offensive coordinator Mike Kafka then filled in as the interim head coach for the rest of the season. Now going into 2026, the Giants have hired former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh as the team’s next head coach.

With hopes of Dart establishing himself as the team’s next franchise quarterback, stability is key. During an interview with the Associated Press’ Rob Maaddi, he gave his thoughts on playing under Harbaugh.

“I can’t wait,” Dart said. “I’ve had a lot of conversations with Coach before he had the job finalized, and at points where we were just talking in a room and the room had to get dispersed just because of how long we were talking. So, he’s a coach that you know I just am really excited to play for, from obviously, you know, his resume from a coaching standpoint, but just him as a person.”
Harbaugh does bring an impressive amount of experience to the Giants. He spent 18 seasons as the Ravens’ head coach, going 180-113 in the regular season. He also went 13-11 in the playoffs, capping off the 2012 season with a Super Bowl win.
With Dart under center, he and Harbaugh are looking to help the Giants achieve their first winning record and playoff appearance since the 2022 season.
