“Relationships are hard.” Jalen Ramsey and Dolphins are in midst of a split that will likely end in a summer trade.

With the Los Angeles Rams opting not to address the cornerback position in the NFL draft this year, all eyes are on Jalen Ramsey. The Miami Dolphins are moving on from the veteran defensive back, seeking a trade that will send Ramsey to a contender in exchange for draft capital.
The Rams are one of the many teams interested in acquiring Ramsey but as of now, he’s still a member of the Dolphins. That’s not likely to change until the calendar turns to June, either.
NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe shared the latest on Ramsey’s situation, saying that “nothing is imminent” but that could change once we get to June.
“I was told nothing is imminent,” Wolfe said. “There had been conversations draft weekend and throughout May in regards to Jalen Ramsey. There’s interest, but right now there’s nothing imminent. There’s nothing closing at this moment. It’s been relatively quiet but one thing I was told was to keep an eye on that (June) 1st date. The Dolphins would take over a $25 million cap hit if they traded him before (June) 1st. That number drops to under $7 million if they trade him after (June) 1st.”
While nothing is imminent, it does seem highly likely that Ramsey will be moved at some point this offseason.
“I expect him to get traded sometime in June or July. They have talked to a lot of teams. I’m told the Dolphins are aware of teams that Ramsey would be interested in,” Wolfe added.
The Rams remain a logical fit for Ramsey and they haven’t hidden their interest in a reunion. Sean McVay and Les Snead have both spoken highly of him this offseason, keeping the door open for a potential trade to bring him back to Los Angeles.
It’s possible a trade could be agreed to before June 1 but it almost certainly won’t be processed until the start of June.
