The 2026 free agency period begins at 3:00 p.m. on March 11, but two days prior, on March 9 at 11:00 a.m., the legal tampering period begins. There will be plenty of players who choose to re-sign with their current team rather than enter free agency, but this year’s coaching carousel means that players are likely to get shuffled around, too.
Recently, CBS Sports released its list of potential landing spots for the top 50 impending free agents, and the Tennessee Titans are projected to land three players who will instantly boost the roster.
EDGEÂ Jaelan Phillips:Â Titans
Tennessee has the most effective cap space in the NFL, and they use that to their advantage here to bring in an impressive edge rusher. Phillips only had five sacks in 2025, but he was tied for ninth league-wide in pressures and had an impressive 18.8% pressure rate. Other suitors: Commanders, Chargers, Eagles
WRÂ Jauan Jennings: Titans
Jennings had a breakout 2024 and followed it up with a solid 2025 that included nine receiving touchdowns. He’s a big, strong reliable receiver who is especially effective on third downs, and Robert Saleh would love to bring him along from San Francisco to Tennessee. Other suitors: Bills, 49ers, Falcons
LBÂ Nakobe Dean: Titans
Saleh will want a strong presence in the middle of his defense, and putting Dean behind a front of Jeffery Simmons, T’Vondre Sweat and Phillips (projected) would be a great way to unleash him as a blitzer. Other suitors: Bills, Panthers, Vikings
If the Titans can make all three of these signings happen, it would give them a running start into the 2026 season. The defense absolutely needs a bigger presence on the edge, and a veteran linebacker who can ground the middle of the defense would allow guys like Cedric Gray more freedom.
The Titans only have three wide receivers who are set to hit free agency, but bringing in a guy like Jennings would be huge for Cam Ward. Imagine a healthy Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor/Chimere Dike, and Jauan Jennings receiving corps for Ward to target. With Brian Daboll calling the plays, that could be a formidable passing game.
