…the Cardinals were the last team to be able to find their next head coach, but they have found him, as they’ve hired Mike LaFleur, the offensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams, to run their franchise.
Now, LaFleur is obviously a name that you recognize because Mike’s older brother, Matt, is the head coach of the Green Bay Packers.
But this is just yet another example of if you get a cup of coffee with Sean McVay, you are immediately a head coaching candidate.
Not to say one way or the other whether that’s the right thing, it’s just the trajectory of the league.
Mike LaFleur has obviously been part of a tremendous offense for the Rams that we all watched and marveled over this year.

Certainly, he’s been in that offense for the last two years, but like everyone that comes out of McVay’s offense, the question is always: how much of it is McVay, and how much of it is the person that we’re considering for this opportunity?
The Cardinals were very thorough in their process.
They took their time, and they obviously feel comfortable that Mike LaFleur can not only run an offense, but run an entire organization.
They may have been last, but they’ll get the last laugh if their coach can turn around the franchise.
