Texas A&M could potentially see two players selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft for the first time since 2014, after just three star defensive linemen, Shemar Stewart, Nic Scourton, and Shemar Turner, were the only players to depart after the 2024 season, and were all selected in the first and second rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.
On Monday, NFL.com draft expert Lance Zierlein released his latest mock draft, which features Texas A&M senior edge Cashius Howell selected 23rd overall by the Philadelphia Eagles, followed by junior wide receiver KC Concepcion making his way to No. 30 and the Denver Broncos, and, most surprisingly, junior left guard Chase Bisontis, predicted to land with Seattle with the 32nd pick, who opted to depart after three seasons due to his rising draft grade.
Howell, who is coming off his breakout 2025 season, was named the 11th unanimous All-American in Texas A&M history after recording 11.5 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 41 pressures. Last week, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah mocked Howell to go 15th overall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which is the highest many industry experts expected him to go before the NFL Combine results.
“Considering Jalyx Hunt led Philadelphia with just 6.5 sacks this season, the Eagles need to bring more heat from the outside. Howell is a splashy edge rusher with limited impact on the run at this juncture.”
KC Concecpion made the best decision of his career to transfer from NC State to Texas A&M, putting up career numbers through the air, while winning the Paul Horung award, and earning All-American recognition as an all-purpose player after recording 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns, while rushing for 75 yards and a score, and averaging 18.2 yards per punt return and two punt return touchdowns.

“Few receivers cook quite like Concepcion when it comes to separating from man coverage,” Zierlin stated.
Lastly, Chase Bisontis could have returned for a final season, but felt he had shown enough over the course of his career in College Station. He will immediately bring elite strength at either guard spot and has improved as a pass protector. With Seattle headed to the Super Bowl to face New England, Seahawks general manager John Schneider is likely looking to upgrade at guard to protect franchise quarterback Sam Darnold.
“John Schneider loves to trade out of the first round, but Seattle has a clear need at the guard spot opposite last year’s first-round pick, Grey Zabel. Bisontis provides the kind of toughness and scheme versatility that should be appealing.”
Concepcion and Bisontis were the only players who could have returned for a final season, while Cashius Howell ran out of eligibility.
