“The Steelers’ 2025 schedule has been fully revealed — and with that in mind, we now have dates for some of Pittsburgh’s most anticipated ‘revenge’ games this season. Whether it’s ex-Steelers looking to punish the Steel City for letting them leave, or newly acquired Steelers aiming to bring the heat to their former teams — here are five exciting revenge games for Pittsburgh in 2025.

This contest reeks of revenge — potentially on both sides of the coin, as ex-Steeler Justin Fields could be looking to prove to his former HC Mike Tomlin that benching him for Russell Wilson was a mistake. Meanwhile, the possible addition of Aaron Rodgers could have the four-time MVP eagerly looking forward to handing Jets HC Aaron Glenn the first loss of his head coaching career.

Cam Heyward joked that it’s difficult to call Week 2 a revenge game — as DK Metcalf requested the trade — but no one will deny that the athletic WR doesn’t have this matchup circled on his calendar. Regardless of the respect he clearly has for the 12th man in Seattle — the Seahawks didn’t pay him the massive contract extension, the Steelers did. Metcalf will be looking to show that the grass is truly greener on the other side of the country.

As if this AFC North matchup needed any additional fuel to keep the rivalry burning red hot — the Browns went ahead and traded for ex-Steelers QB Kenny Pickett, while also signing former disgruntled Steelers wideout Diontae Johnson this offseason. Pickett and Johnson will reunite in Pittsburgh for the first time in almost two years — but this time donning Cleveland’s colors. It’s hard not to imagine a chorus of boos welcoming them into Acrisure Field.

This revenge game depends entirely on whether or not Rodgers decides to play for the Steelers in 2025 — and considering that many close to the situation remain confident he will, let’s just say Rodgers will finally face off against his Green Bay replacement: 2020 first-round QB Jordan Love. Arguably two of the most storied franchises in NFL history, clashing on Sunday Night Football — with Rodgers in a situation similar to Brett Favre at the end of his career — this could easily be the most storyline-filled game of the 2025 season.

Another Sunday Night Football matchup shortly after the Packers contest — except this time, an ex-Steeler is looking to dish out some payback. Najee Harris, who left Pittsburgh this offseason to sign with the Chargers, didn’t have the kindest comments on his way out of the Steel City. He fired shots at the Steelers’ training facility and the lack of identity on offense less than two weeks after signing with Los Angeles — but Pittsburgh’s defense may force Harris to take a long look in the mirror if the Steelers walk away victorious at SoFi.
