The Los Angeles Rams are extending Head Coach Sean McVay and GM Les Snead to multiyear contracts
The Los Angeles Rams extended Head Coach Sean McVay and General Manager Les Snead to multiyear contracts, the team announced Feb. 2. The Rams hired Snead as GM Feb. 10, 2012 and McVay as head coach Jan. 12, 2017. The exact numbers of the contract have not revealed.
Under both McVay and Snead, the Rams have gone 92-57 in the regular season, with seven playoff births, four division titles, two Super Bowl appearances, and won Super Bowl LVI 23-20 over the Cincinnati Bengals. This is the second time the two signed contract extensions together, as they did the same Sept. 8, 2022.
“As we enter their 10th season together, it is only fitting to reflect on the tremendous success Sean and Les have brought to this franchise, and the indelible impact they have made on Los Angeles and the NFL,” said E. Stanley Kroenke, Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman, in a statement Feb. 2. “They continue to embody the standard of this franchise to compete for championships, consistently delivering a product that our fans and city can be proud of. Their collaboration embodies the We Then Me ethos we seek in our players, coaches and staff, and we are thrilled they will be leading the Los Angeles Rams for years to come.”
Here to stay. 🤝

Some of Snead’s most notable moves as GM include trading quarterback Matthew Stafford on March 18, 2021— who is an MVP finalist this season — drafting defensive tackle Aaron Donald in 2014 — who is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year — and drafting Puka Nacua in 2023 — who is an AP Offensive Player of the Year finalist for this season.
McVay holds the record for the youngest head coach hired in NFL history — he was 30 when originally hired — the youngest coach to reach the Super Bowl — he was 33 when the Rams made it to Super Bowl LIII — and the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl — he was 36 when he won Super Bowl LVI.
“It means a lot,” McVay said. “I’m just really grateful. I’m grateful for our players and our coaches because these opportunities don’t present themself if you’re not around great people.
