“12-mobiles” should get quite the reaction from Bay Area football fans as Seahawks fans make the journey to California.

SAN FRANCISCO — Seattle Seahawks fans are embarking on an 800-mile road trip from western Washington to the Bay Area for the 2026 Super Bowl, traveling in a convoy of uniquely customized vehicles that showcase their team spirit.

Tom Triggs, a Vietnam veteran and retired trucker, will make the journey in his “Hawk-Rod,” a 1979 Chevy El Camino he discovered in a Yakima junkyard in 2010. After restoring the vehicle, Triggs added a distinctive feature to the truck bed.

“So I took it home to the garage, sanded her down, painted her up. I said, that looks pretty good, but it ain’t done yet. You know what, boys, I tell you, what? What if I put a Super Bowl field in the back end? I wonder if that’d fit. And guess what? It fits,” Triggs said.

The El Camino’s bed now features authentic Kingdome turf and PVC field goals, creating a miniature football field display.

Triggs will be part of a larger convoy of devoted fans making the southbound trip on Interstate 5 to Santa Clara.

“This here’s a bunch of minds with the 12 mentality spirit in it. We we see Hawk twelvers that like to ride on our pride. When you ride on your pride, it’s a smooth wave all the time,” Triggs said.

Another fan, Justin Smith, who flew to New York for the Seahawks’ previous Super Bowl victory, is taking a different approach this time.

Smith and his friends are prepping a retired double-decker transit bus from London, England, equipping it with new Goodyear tires for the journey. The fans anticipate a potentially hostile reception in Northern California.

“Can you imagine a San Francisco 49er bus coming into Seattle? It’s exactly the same way that I would feel,” Smith said.
