The 2025 draft continues to fast approach, now just hours away from kicking off on Thursday night. This year’s spectacle features no shortage of talented prospects, key storylines, and drama.

As per usual, quarterbacks have dominated much of the media attention leading up to the draft particularly in conversations near the top of the first round. However, there’s plenty of other notable position groups with high-level players. Edge rusher, defensive tackle, and running back are three groups considered to be especially deep in this year’s draft class.

Every year, many people have one specific prospect in mind that profiles as their “draft crush” — the player that they’re tantalized and enamored with more than any other. Whether it be for personal rooting reasons or the player’s prospect profile, or mixture of both reasons, fans and analysts alike will fall in love with certain players.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

Who is your draft crush?

My answer: CB Shavon Revel Jr., East Carolina University

It’s always dicey to draft a prospect that’s coming off a significant injury. Such is the case with East Carolina’s Shavon Revel, who suffered a torn ACL in September of 2024. However, there’s common instances where a super talented player will slide in the draft because of injury concerns — and a team lands a great value selection as a result.

This could be true for Revel this coming weekend. The 6-foot-3 cornerback was widely considered a potential first-round talent and one of the top prospects at his position before his injury occurred. Now, he could wind up being a back-half pick in the second round or slide into the third round.

Revel’s physical profile is tantalizing and he possess an impressive skill set. The former ECU product is a high-level man coverage cornerback with good playmaking instincts. In three appearances in 2024, Revel had two interceptions, including a highlight 50-yard return for a touchdown against Appalachian State.

In 21 games played through his first two seasons, Revel recorded 62 tackles, 13 passes defended, a fumble-return touchdown, and two blocked kicks on special teams. He helped elevate ECU’s defense and played a starring role for a school that’s had only three prospects get drafted in the first round ever.

Revel could be a good option for the Ravens in the second or third rounds as high-reward type prospect. They’re deep enough at cornerback where they could bring Revel along slowly in his ramp-up, allowing him to develop and recover properly.
