The Houston Texans quarterback underwent a major haircut after the conclusion of his third NFL season.

The 24-year old Stroud has been known for his dreads.

Now, he has a clean, close cut instead.

A social media video on Tuesday showed off the full transformation for Stroud:

With the new haircut comes a big offseason for Stroud.

He’s eligible for a contract extension for the first time. The Texans still have control of Stroud on his rookie contract for two more seasons (when including his fifth-year option for 2027), so anything they decide to do would account for 2028 and beyond.

Stroud was great as a rookie but hasn’t been quite as consistent or impressive in his second or third seasons in the NFL out of Ohio State.

It’s hard for a team to give up on a talented, young QB, so most analysts still think Stroud will get a big-money deal, although maybe not as huge as would’ve been expected a few seasons ago.

Whatever happens on the contract front, it’ll be up to Stroud to show improvements during the 2026 NFL season.

And hey, new hair, new him. Stroud’s fresh look may give him the momentum he needs to take strides forward in his NFL career.
