The Miami Dolphins signed former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr., according to his agent.

Marshall, 25, was a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft after putting up big numbers in an LSU offense that also featured Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, and Ja’Marr Chase. But those former teammates thrived in the NFL and Marshall has struggled to find his footing.

In three seasons with the Panthers, Marshall recorded only 64 receptions for 767 yards and one touchdown. He was waived by Carolina at the end of training camp in 2024. Since then, Marshall has spent brief stints with the San Francisco 49ers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Philadelphia Eagles. He appeared in seven games with the Raiders in 2024 and caught three passes for 41 yards.

Depth at the wide receiver position is thin for the Dolphins, especially with the expected departure of Tyreek Hill in the offseason. Behind Jaylen Waddle on the team’s depth chart are Malik Washington, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Dee Eskridge, Tahj Washington, Theo Wease Jr., and Cedrick Wilson. Eskridge and Wilson are due to become free agents in March, and Westbrook-Ikhine could be released to save salary cap space.
