Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins- Mm-hmm -joins us.
You’re here on behalf of Campbell’s Chunky Soup.
Yeah.
We will get into that for- in just a minute.
But first of all, I mean, we have to address the crochet hat- Oh!
-the stuntin’ jeans- Yeah … the tee.
This is me.
Walk us through the fit- Yeah -before we get into anything else- Oh, my gosh -more important.
Yes, so- If there is anything more important.
Yeah.
Well, life is, life is, you know- -way more important things than the fit.
Jeans, right?
Uh-huh.
Bigger guy, need to ha- be comfortable.

I didn’t notice.
I wear jeans.
They come a little stretchy to ’em, a little bend.
Mm-hmm.
So Mary’s always work.
The shirts belong to me and my Snow Guys.
I wear my shirts.
These are from me, snowstore.com.
Rock ’em, I love ’em.
The hat, my dog Simon makes them, and, my chains, Raphael.
Your dog makes them?
My- Oh, not my dog- … but Simon, like my dog.
Got it.
Like my dog, my dog Simon.
Your D-A-G-G. That’s my dude.
That’s your guy.
That’s my dude.
That’s your dude.
I love it.
You’re fitted- That’s my dude … and, I could spot you from a mile away in the best way possible.
That’s the purpose.
I was like, “That’s an outfit-” You know what I’m saying?

“Let’s go!”
Little shine for the brand.
Little show me a little smile.
I do wanna get into, you know, a lot of changes the past couple of weeks with the Buffalo Bills.
Yeah.
Sean McDermott, your head coach over the last nine seasons, relieved of his duties.
Your initial reaction when you heard that Sean McDermott had been fired?
I didn’t think it was real.
Mm-hmm.
I didn’t Like, I was actually talking to one of my teammates, Shaq, and he was like, “Yo, they fired Coach.”
I was like, “Psh, okay.”
I’m thinking, like, “What coach, like, like, did they fire?”
Mm-hmm.
Like, it could have been, like, a assistant coach or this coach or that coach.

But when he said, “Coach,” I didn’t think he meant Coach coach.
Mm-hmm.
But, you know, I just made me just realize the league that we’re in and how it can go any way.
But, you know, it’s a bittersweet feeling.
Mm-hmm.
But I’m blessed that, Joe Brady is the guy that’s replaced McDermott or stepped in.
I don’t like wanna say, like, and replace, but the guy that stepped in to take over, Joe Brady, because Joe Brady is a guy that we’re familiar with.
And, the best thing with going into a new season with a new head coach is having a quarterback know his coach.
Yeah.
And he does.
And there is, you know, a, a best-case scenario aspect in that.

With all of this change, there is at least a little bit of familiarity.
Mm-hmm.
But look, a lot of people that do what I do, we talk for a living, we say, “Well, wait, look, Joe Brady’s never been a head coach at any level before.”
What about Joe Brady makes you think that he’s ready to take on this role?
He’s a guy, man.
He’s, he’s a guy.
I think anybody that could relate to his players and have a relationship with his players has a chance.
Mm-hmm.
And he’s a guy who has a relationship with his players, so he has a chance.
Yeah.
Yep.
And after, after the game, you know, when you were being interviewed and a reporter told you, “Hey, look, Josh said that, it, that he let his teammates down”- That hurt me … you got a little emotional.

Why, why- Yeah, that hurt me … did that hurt you?
That hurt me, man.
It was Just knowing how Josh is as a person on and off of the field, and knowing what he does to, you know, risk his body and to play ball the way that he does, and for him to do all that he did and still feel like it was his fault or he didn’t do enough, is, like, it just broke me.
Like, it’s just like, Josh, like, like, you did more than enough, brother.
You always do more than enough.
Like, there’s nothing you didn’t do.
There’s always some things that we always want back.
You’re not perfect.
We don’t expect you to be perfect.
Like, we love you.

Yeah.
You know?
And, and, and I do, for sure.
Like, I’ve been protecting that kid for years, and it’s just, you know, I- it broke my heart to hear that, because I look at him like my big little brother.
I give him that and respect, but I’m his big bro, right?
Mm-hmm.
And for me to hear my little brother say it was his fault, like, it just broke me down.
Mm-hmm.
And I hate even thinking about it, ’cause I know that that’s gonna eat him up all off-season.
Mm-hmm.
Just gonna eat him alive.
And our job is to continue to keep him in good spirits.
Yeah.
We work with a diehard Buffalo Bills fan.
I know a lot of Bills fans will be listening to this.

What’s the message that you want them to hear going into next season?
Yeah, as I always say, man, it’s either you’re with us or you’re not, right?
If you’re not with us, just, just get the hell up out of here.
Right?
And if you’re with us, stay with us, right?
And, understand that none of us are perfect.
None of us are immortal, right?
We’re, we’re players, we’re human, and we’re people, and we’re trying our absolute best to get this job done for you and for us, ’cause we wanna win just as bad as you do.
So we will continue to do everything.
Stay with us.
We love you guys, and, go Bills!
Dion, you’re such a wonderful ambassador- … for the city of Buffalo, for the NFL- I appreciate it … as a whole.

And because I do, they’re here with me.
And, I have a bowl, and it’s a soup bowl for the Souper- Bowl.
Thank you!
There it is.

That’s all it is.
A lot of very creative and smart people coming up with that.
