After a wild month of January, the Atlanta Falcons have now filled most of their key front office and coaching positions. Head coach Kevin Stefanski and general manager Ian Cunningham have been hired to lead this team back to the playoffs for the first time since 2017.

Before they can do that, though, the Falcons must put their roster together for the upcoming season. Without a first-round draft pick, they may have to lean into free agency a bit more than in recent seasons. However, the team doesn’t have a ton of salary cap space. According to Over The Cap’s projections, the Falcons have around $26 million available.

Since that’s not enough money to re-sign everyone, Atlanta will need to spend its money wisely. Here are four players the Falcons should attempt to re-sign in NFL free agency.

1). Tight end Kyle Pitts

2025 stats: 88 catches, 928 yards, 5 TD

Pitts has been up and down over his five seasons in Atlanta, but it’s hard to fully blame the 25-year-old. After a 1,000-yard rookie campaign, Pitts had three forgettable seasons before bouncing back with 928 yards and five touchdowns in 2025. The former No. 4 overall pick was the only dependable pass-catcher at times with Drake London sidelined. When the Falcons have had decent QB play, Pitts has shown he can be a difference-maker. It won’t be cheap, but Atlanta can’t afford to lose him without a capable backup on the roster.

2). Kicker Zane Gonzalez

2025 stats: 19-of-22 field goals, 17-of-18 extra points

Gonzalez helped stabilize the kicker position in what was a chaotic year for Atlanta’s special teams units. Younghoe Koo was released early in the season and replaced by Parker Romo. Despite an impressive 5-for-5 debut, Romo struggled as the season went on and was eventually cut. Gonzalez provided the consistency that the Falcons needed and played a key role in the team’s four-game winning streak to close the season. Bringing him back seems like a no-brainer.

3). Linebacker Kaden Elliss

2025 stats: 107 tackles (59 solo), 3.5 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF

Elliss has been one of the most consistent players on defense since signing with Atlanta in 2023. He continues to do a little bit of everything and is a perfect fit in Jeff Ulbrich’s scheme. The combined versatility of Elliss and Divine Deablo has helped the Falcons mix up looks on defense. Elliss, 30, has recorded at least 100 tackles and three sacks in all three of his seasons in Atlanta.

4). Offensive tackle Elijah Wilkinson

2025 stats: 17 games started

While Kaleb McGary is expected to be back healthy next season, Wilkinson proved his worth by holding down the right tackle position for the entire year. The veteran offensive lineman went from someone who wasn’t even guaranteed to make the roster to playing a key role. Wilkinson also showed the value of having a capable swing tackle on the roster. Assuming he takes a team-friendly contract to stay in Atlanta, re-signing Wilkinson would be a good move for depth.
