SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The Windsor Forest Knights have chosen Willie Martin Jr to lead their football program.
Martin spoke with players and parents on Wednesday about his background and goals moving forward.
Martin Jr has 14-years of coaching experience heading into 2026 with stops at Mitchell County (GA), Lakewood High School (SC) and Crestwood High School (SC). During those stints, he’s helped turn around those programs especially from the offensive side of the ball. He looks to take that prior success into the castle. “We were able to turn those programs into something special and the dynamics of this school is very similar so it really was encouraging.”
Of the 14-years coaching both as an assistant and an offensive coordinator, this will be Coach Martin’s first as a Head Football Coach. “I’m glad I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to grow as a coach and I’m ready for this opportunity. I’m going to take the bull by the horns and me, my coaching staff and the kids are going to get this done.”
Coach Martin introduced his coaching philosophy which is “Create an environment that is conducive to player growth and development on and off the field of play.”
Windsor Forest went 4-6 in 2025, eight of those games following the abrupt resignation by Former Head Coach C.J Frazier who stepped down due to personal reasons. The Knights are searching for their first above .500 season since 2020-21.
