Bruno Onwuazor, OT, Virginia State | 2026 NFL Draft Prospect Zoom Interview
Virginia State’s massive offensive lineman Bruno Onwuazor has emerged as one of the top HBCU prospects this season. A two-time All-CIAA First Team selection and the 2024 CIAA Offensive Lineman of the Year, he has been a reliable, multi-year starter at left tackle, anchoring the Trojans’ offensive line for more than three seasons. His ascent is particularly unique—beginning as a walk-on at Maryland with minimal football experience before transferring to Virginia State, where he steadily refined his game and grew into one of the CIAA’s most accomplished linemen through consistent, durable, high-level play.
From a physical standpoint, Onwuazor possesses elite, NFL-caliber measurables that immediately capture the attention of evaluators. Standing near 6-foot-8 with an 86-inch wingspan and nearly 36-inch arms, he offers rare length, extension, and pass-protection upside at the tackle position. His basketball background is evident in his balance, foot quickness, and overall body control for a player of his size. Having transitioned to American football after moving from Nigeria roughly a decade ago, he continues to display strong coachability, adaptability, and a natural aptitude for the game. His combination of exceptional physical tools, proven production, and continued technical development makes him an intriguing long-term developmental prospect with significant potential at the next level. Onwuazor is expected to participate in this season’s HBCU Legacy Bowl on February 21, 2006 at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, LA.
