The Kansas City Chiefs saw their defensive line underperform in 2025 and may look to move on from a few of their pass-rushers if general manager Brett Veach decides that he wants to rejuvenate the unit during the coming offseason.

One of Kansas City’s veterans who is set to hit the market in free agency is Charles Omenihu, who has played an important role on the Chiefs‘ front-four since signing with the team in 2023.

Here’s a look at what it might take for Kansas City to retain Omenihu in 2026:

Given that Omenihu isn’t expected to command a massive salary on his next contract, it seems likely that Kansas City will be able to re-sign him at some point during the offseason. However, the Chiefs will need to clear some cap space before they can consider extending Omenihu an offer.
