NEW ORLEANS, La. (NEWS 15) — New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough has been named the Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Year, which is voted on by fans, the league announced. This marks the fourth time a Saint has earned this honor, with Shough joining the ranks of George Rogers, Rueben Mayes, and Alvin Kamara.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be chosen for this award,” Shough said. “This wouldn’t be possible without all of my teammates and coaches giving everything they had each and every week to help us win.”
Shough, 6-foot-5, 219 pounds, was a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft from Louisville. In 11 games, including nine starts, he completed 221-of-327 passes (67.6%) for 2,384 yards and a 91.3 passer rating. His third-down passer rating of 103.3 led the NFL.
In addition to this award, Shough was named a PFWA All-Rookie selection and the December/January NFL Rookie of the Month. He is also a finalist for the Associated Press NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, to be announced at the NFL Honors awards show.
