SAN JOSE, Calif – The Super Bowl experience is more than just Sunday’s game. For the Seahawks and Patriots, it’s also about enjoying what for many of them is the biggest moment in their careers.
Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold told reporters Thursday the team is able to bond in a different way, going through the Super Bowl experience and even busing back and forth to practices.
“It feels like training camp again,” Darnold said. “We’re all here in the hotel, we just hang out and spend a bunch of time together. Enjoying this moment is such a key for me and all the guys in the locker room.”
Darnold talked about his journey to football’s biggest game. The former USC quarterback played for the Jets, 49ers and Vikings before joining the Seahawks in 2025.
“I don’t think this would be possible without the bumps I went on earlier in my career,” he said.
Darnold played the part Thursday, wearing his jersey in and Seahawks hat.
He stopped min-sentence to say “bless you” to someone in the crowd who sneezed.
“My goal is to be a good person,” he said.
