Just a year ago, the Philadelphia Eagles were on top of the NFL world, having won the Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs. But fast forward to the present time, and there are all sorts of rumors around how the offseason is going to look for this team.

*PREDICTION*

Probably the biggest rumor going around the Eagles right now is what the future holds for star wide receiver A.J. Brown. Throughout the 2025 season, Brown seemed disgruntled and unhappy being in Philadelphia, and many around the league are expecting a possible trade to happen this offseason.

His tense relationship with the Eagles has been very public, making a split between the two sides even more likely. But the Eagles could also look to hold onto him, keeping the core that just won the Super Bowl together for at least another season.

Last season, Brown caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns, playing in 15 games for the Eagles. The veteran remains a strong possession receiver, and he could net Philadelphia a nice return if traded.

New Orleans Saints Trade For AJ Brown

If the Eagles do put him on the trade block and start fielding calls, the New Orleans Saints could be one of the stronger landing spots for Brown. Not only do the Saints need more help in the wide receiver room, but Brown knows Saints head coach Kellen Moore very well from their time together in Philadelphia.

Getting to reunite with Moore in New Orleans could appeal to Brown, and this would create a legitimate wide receiver duo for the Saints. Pairing Brown and Chris Olave could be a dangerous combination of weapons for this team, and it would give quarterback Tyler Shough more weapons to throw the ball to.

After taking over as the Saints’ starting quarterback midway through the year, Shough showed out for this team, and there is a lot of hope for the future. Overall, the rookie threw for 2,384 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions, playing in 11 games (nine starts) for New Orleans.

Giving him weapons such as Brown and Olave could help in his development, and this Saints’ passing attack could fully take off. Moore has proven himself to be a strong playcaller, so the Saints could get right back into playoff position with a trade of Brown.

AJ Brown Contract Details

Even with all the off-the-field drama that Brown has had, his contract is very team-friendly, and the Saints would be getting a valuable offensive weapon for a good price. Brown has a cap hit of $23 million for the upcoming season, and it doesn’t go above $30 million in any year before his deal expires.

New Orleans has been in a tough salary situation for years, so adding a talent like Brown at a good price could be exactly what this team has been searching for. The Saints owe it to themeslves ot make a move like this over the offseason, and if Brown is actually available via trade, New Orleans shouldn’t hesitate in making some offers to the Eagles.
