New Orleans Saint’s legendary quarterback and Louisiana legend, Drew Brees was named a NFL first ballot Hall of Famer.

This was only a matter of time as the legendary signal caller holds plenty of franchise records including both passing yards and passing touchdowns. He also led the Saints to their lone Superbowl victory defeating the Indianapolis Colts led by Peyton Manning. While doing this, Brees secured Superbowl MVP.

In addition to his accomplishments for the Saints, Brees held the record for most passing touchdowns and passing yards of all time for a brief stint before getting passed up by the legendary Tom Brady.

Throughout his career, Brees was an underdog. In 2005 while playing for the San Diego Chargers, Brees severely injured his right shoulder diving on a fumble. This resulted in only one team showing actual interest when his contract expired after this season: The New Orleans Saints.

At the time, New Orleans was in a very dark place, Hurricane Katrina had just cut the city’s population in half and there seemed to be no hope.

However, the city rallied around Brees and he did not disappoint. He impacted the lives of so many people with his play on the field and also with who he is off the field.

Some of the other legendary players to get this honor are Arizona Cardinals receiver, Larry Fitzgerald, and Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly.
