The call might’ve come a year later than it should have, but Carolina Panthers legend Luke Kuechly is headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. So, how did he find out?
Kuechly, along with four others, was officially etched into football immortality during NFL Honors on Thursday night. And shortly following the announcement, the hall’s Twitter/X account posted a video of the very moment that the former linebacker heard the news.
Oh, and it features a pretty special guest.

Welcoming Kuechly in was an old teammate, Pro Football Hall of Fame defender Julius Peppers. Peppers was inducted two years ago, as a first-ballot honoree in 2024.

He and Kuechly played a pair of campaigns together after Peppers’ return to Carolina in 2017. The two helped the Panthers to their last playoff appearance before this season’s NFC South title win.
Kuechly will become the first player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame to play his entire career with the Panthers.
