Why would the Washington Commanders trade for Maxx Crosby?

But remember the Cowboys demanded two first-round draft selections for Parsons. The Cowboys also received defensive tackle Kenny Clark, as well. So, while Commanders fans and media were taking turns getting excited, talking about the Commanders trading for Crosby, let’s remind ourselves what the Raiders would demand in return.

Why wouldn’t the Raiders demand two first-round selections for Crosby? Crosby is only 28 years old, and his production has at times been insane, as he led the NFL in back-to-back seasons (2022-2023) in tackles for a loss. In those two seasons, he also accomplished 12.5 and 14.5 quarterback sacks. Can you imagine a Commanders defensive end having compiled 22 and 23 tackles for a loss in consecutive seasons?

However, the Commanders have the No. 7 pick in this next draft. And they have no choices in rounds two and four in this upcoming draft. Why would the Commanders feel they could part ways with two first-round choices right now? They have so many holes in their roster, don’t they need to be thinking more about trading down twice, picking up more draft choices than trading away choices?
