The Los Angeles Chargers have significantly expanded their presence in Greece, hosting a high-level Flag Football Camp for the first time in Thessaloniki. The event highlights the sport’s growing momentum as it prepares for its Olympic debut in 2028.

Building on the success of their initial visit last October, the Chargers returned to Greece to inspire a new generation of athletes and strengthen the ties between the NFL and the Greek sporting community.

A major highlight of the day was the presence of Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley. Henley worked directly with participants, sharing invaluable experience, specialized technical knowledge, and inspiration from the pinnacle of professional American football.

The facilities at the Pinewood American International School (Anatolia Campus) were transformed into a professional training hub, where over 300 young athletes honed their skills under the guidance of the Chargers’ expert staff and athletes from the Hellenic Flag Football League.

During their stay, the Chargers delegation met with the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis.

Additionally, a special event was held at the American Space in Thessaloniki, organized in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Greece and the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce. As Flag Football gears up for the 2028 Olympics, this initiative has ignited a spark for the sport’s future in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece.
