GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy is reflecting on the NFL Draft, about one month after the historic event wrapped up in Titletown.

This week, FOX 11 is sharing parts of an exclusive interview with Murphy leading up to the “FOX 11 Draft 25: Touchdown in Titletown” special that will air Monday at 9:30 p.m. on FOX 11.

In Wednesday’s portion of the interview, FOX 11 asked Murphy if anything surprised him about hosting the draft.

“I was a little surprised particularly by the turnout on Saturday,” said Murphy. “I thought that might dip a little. I think we had more people on Saturday than any day. The weather cooperated, but it was just overwhelmingly positive.”

FOX 11 asked Murphy if there was anything that was hyped too much leading up to the draft, compared to how it actually played out.

No, pretty much across the board, it exceeded… and we knew, we had a pretty good idea having been to other drafts, seeing what the league does. I guess one thing that really impressed me is the league knows what it is doing. The way they set it up, there were some things we were kind of like, ‘Is that really necessary?’ but the league did a tremendous job in terms of setting everything up, and they were really good to work with too. A lot of credit has to go to the league office. Since they started taking it on the road in 2015, I think they kind of have it down and know exactly how to set it up. It was impressive to see it kind of all play out.

FOX 11’s full interview with Murphy will go live on the WLUK-TV FOX 11 YouTube channel on Sunday.
