Jim Schwartz, the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, has resigned.
Now, important to note here that he still has a year left on his contract, so he may take some time away.
He’s now lo- most likely to sit out the season.
There is still an opportunity for other teams to trade for his services should they want to, but he has decided that he would rather sit out than remain with this organization.
Not a huge surprise, considering the fact that he was passed over, in the head coaching search for Todd Monken.
Obviously, that, that created, you know, some kind of feels that I think are pretty hu- human and normal here.

but Schwartz decides he’s not gonna be there, so Monken needs to figure out now how to get that defense on his side and what his defense is gonna look like.
Have you heard the phrase, “Dumb teams stay dumb?”
that’s what the Cleveland Browns are.
The Browns are dumb if they thought that they could, you know, kind of bring Jim Schwartz along in this entire head coaching interview process, choose Todd Monken, and expect Jim Schwartz to just be all hunky dory okay with it.
I don’t blame Jim Schwartz for saying, “All this time, you interviewed me.
All this time, you were stringing me along, and all this time, I wasn’t going to be the guy, and you think that I’m just gonna sit back here and take it?”

Jim Schwartz, a guy that is one of the most respected defensive minds in this league, I don’t blame him for that.
And Jim Schwartz, I think, is such a big reason why Myles Garrett is Defensive Player of the Year, why Tressinger is Defensive Rookie of the Year.
The Browns’ defense has kept the Browns in so many of their games this past season, even when their offense was a big, fat question mark.
So I think that this is a huge loss for the Cleveland Browns, and already putting Todd Monken behind the eight ball in his, early in his tenure.
