Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper broke the ice.

Two years ago, during his team’s late-season visit to EverBank Stadium, Tepper provided some Jacksonville Jaguars fans with a refreshment. Okay, okay—it actually wasn’t as nice it sounds.

Towards the end of what was a painful 26-0 loss, he tossed out the remaining contents of a drinking cup towards the stands. The incident was caught on video, made for some not-so-flattering press and eventually resulted in a bit of punishment from the NFL.

Well, Tepper finally addressed the toss on Friday, while appearing on The Pat McAfee Show.

Here’s what he had to say . . .

Tepper was fined $300,000 for what the league deemed to be “unacceptable conduct.” The NFL would issue the following statement on Tepper’s actions:

All NFL personnel are expected to conduct themselves at all times in ways that respect our fans and favorably reflect on their team and the NFL.

Fortunately, the drinks haven’t been on Tepper ever since.
