With new faces at seemingly every position, including head coach and quarterback, this Seattle Seahawks team looks a lot different than it did just two years ago. However, these new faces have brought with them a new energy to the Seahawks and the entire city of Seattle. After a dominant defensive season paired with a surprisingly record-breaking year for the offense as well, the Seahawks are finally back in the Super Bowl. Because of this, it is not surprising to see the Seattle Seahawk fans coalesce around this team ahead of their biggest game of the last 10+ years.
97% of polled Seahawks fans predict the team to come away with the second Vince Lombardi Trophy in franchise history. However, any NFL fan could have predicted an outcome like this. What is more surprising is how many people on the national stage believe in this Seahawks team as well.
Of the polled NFL fans, whopping 82% of fans believe the Seahawks will win the Super Bowl as well. Rarely can you find 82% of anyone to agree on something. So, for a number this big to truly believe in this program that coach Mike Macdonald has built really says something.
And if you really want to see something, check out the results from the San Francisco 49ers…
The only fanbase that thinks the Patriots will win is, you guessed it, the Patriots.
With all of the optimism around this team and their chances of winning the big game, who do Seahawk fans think will take home the Super Bowl MVP honors?
In what can be expected, 34% of Seahawks fans believe the MVP will be quarterback, Sam Darnold. Considering the fact that a quarterback nearly always wins Super Bowl MVP, this result makes sense. However, what is interesting is the large contingency (26%) behind wide receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba. If he won, the 2025 Offensive Player of the Year would join his teammate, Cooper Kupp, as one of only nine wide receivers to win the MVP award. Even more interesting is that Kenneth Walker III comes in only at 15%. As a running back, and after the heater of a playoff run that he has put on, Walker III could be a sneaky pick.
And of course, Seahawks fans will always be high on the chances of a defensive player winning the MVP. After Malcolm Smith won the honor after winning Super Bowl 48, the football gods may shine that light onto the defense once again. If Seattle’s defense can shutout the Patriots offense, like many expect, don’t be surprised to see a Leonard Williams, Ernest Jones, or another defensive player heading to Walt Disney World.
