ACKERMAN – The game between longtime rivals Choctaw County and Eupora had the tension of a game with major implications. From ejections to back and forth buckets from each team, it was a game that would play out into the final minutes, but the home team would use the energy of the crowd as Choctaw County took a 78-71 victory over the Eagles.
In a game that saw each team have massive swings of momentum and some heavyweight punches thrown in the final quarter, the Chargers were the ones to get the last push. Trailing 56-53 going into the final 8 minutes, the Chargers would use their full court pressure to cause turnovers and create finishes on the other end.
A deficit heading into the quarter would flip into a 73-61 lead in the final 3 minutes. Eupora would throw one last punch and went on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 73-68, but the Eagles couldn’t get enough offense in the final minutes to overcome it.
