HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WIBW) – Former Chiefs linebacker Darron Lee has been arrested and taken into custody in Tennessee for allegedly murdering his girlfriend.
According to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, on Feb. 5, 2026, officers were dispatched to a residence to a CPR report. First responders discovered a female victim and attempted to save the woman’s life. Officers discovered she had died.
Detectives indicated from preliminary findings that the woman’s death was a result of a homicide. As a result, Lee, 31, was identified as the suspect and was arrested and booked.

Officials added that additional charges could be pending following the outcome of the investigation. The victim’s identity hasn’t been released yet. No additional information has been provided.
Lee played with the Chiefs in 2019, the year they won Super Bowl LIV. He racked up 31 total tackles. He was drafted by the New York Jets with 20th pick in 2016 and played three seasons with the team, starting 36 games.
