(New Orleans, Louisiana) – Former New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees is going into the NFL Hall of Fame.

The NFL has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame class, and Drew Brees, the man who helped lift up the city of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, is going into Canton, Ohio, and will forever be part of the game.

Brees, along with four other former NFL players, was introduced Thursday night at the NFL Honors show in California, and they are now on their way to the Hall of Fame.

However, it’s always the moment the player learns they are going into the Hall of Fame that is so special. Often, they are caught off guard, and the moment the news is delivered is always so genuine.

Watch as Dan Fouts, who is a former San Diego Chargers great, knocks on the door of Drew Brees at his home in San Diego and informs the former Charger and Saints quarterback that he was going into the NFL Hall of Fame.

You can see that Drew is overwhelmed with emotion, knowing that he is now a first-ballot Hall of Famer, and that the moment is shared with his family nearby. Not only did Drew Brees lift up a city after a catastrophic natural disaster, but he is also the only Saints quarterback to win a Super Bowl in New Orleans.

According to ESPN, Drew Brees threw for 80,358 career yards, with 571 touchdowns and 243 interceptions. If you’re curious, Drew rushed for only 752 yards in the NFL, but he was never known as a rushing quarterback; he was a pocket quarterback, and his stats totally support that.

Here’s the moment the 2026 NFL Hall of Fame class was introduced on Thursday night. And now, we can’t wait to hear Drew’s acceptance speech on the night he is inducted.
