The 2026 NFL coaching carousel saw the Pittsburgh Steelers completely overhaul their staff, from high-profile hires to some fan favorites departing the Steel City. And another coach has just left Pittsburgh for the AFC East.
On Friday, NFL Network’s Omar Ruiz reported that former Steelers tight ends coach Alfredo Roberts joined the New York Jets staff in the same role.
Beginning his coaching career in 1999, Roberts brings two decades of experience to the Jets organization, primarily as a tight ends coach, including tenures with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers, and most recently the Steelers.
Ruiz wasn’t the only former Steelers coach to depart Pittsburgh for the Jets this week, as defensive line coach Karl Dunbar also joined New York’s coaching staff after spending the past eight seasons with the Black and Gold.
