The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats’ basketball team is having a good season and starting to catch fire.
The men’s team sits atop the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings with an 8-1 conference record.
The Wildcats (11-11 overall) picked up wins at Alabama A&M 80-62 on Monday and at Alabama State 69-54 just two days earlier.
On Monday, five Wildcats scored in double figures including Jakobi Heady (19 points), Arterio Morris (16 points), Doctor Bradley (15 points with 10 rebounds), Daniel Rouzan (11 points) and Quentin Heady (11 points.
Against Alabama State, Heady had 18 points, Bradley 13 points with 10 rebounds and Rouzan 11.
B-CU has now won six straight games and eight out of their last nine.
Bethune-Cookman returns home to Moore Gymnasium to host Prairie View A&M on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Texas Southern on Monday, Feb. 9.
The Wildcats have nine games remaining this season with a legitimate shot at the top seed for the SWAC tournament, which runs March 9 through March 14 at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta.
