LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Seminole Ridge Flag Football team is one of the most successful Florida flag football teams of all time, having won six state championships and counting. So it’s fitting that the ‘G.O.A.T.’ would be taking notice.
“I wanted to give a huge shoutout to the Seminole Ridge varsity women’s flag football team,” said Tom Brady in a video that the Hawks’ players watched at their end-of-season banquet. “Florida state champs. What a great accomplishment. It says so much about you guys and your commitment to each other and the toughness and belief in what it takes that you had in winning for one another.
Brady, who won 7 Super Bowls in his NFL career with the Patriots and Buccaneers, was apparently very impressed with the flag football team’s 26-2 Class 3A state final win over the Tallahassee Chiles. The No. 1 ranked team in Florida and the Nation, according to MaxPreps, absolutely dominated the competition in the 2025 postseason.
“You guys didn’t just win, you dominated,” added Brady. “You outscored your playoff opponents by like almost 150 points, that’s crazy. I never even did that. Coach (Scott) O’Hara, Coach Taylor, you clearly had this team locked in and ready. Congratulations to you guys both. I know the sacrifice it takes to win and reach the top.
Seminole Ridge may also inspire Brady to return to the game. Reports have been circulating that Brady could be planning to step out of retirement to compete in Flag Football, which will make its debut at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
