The 2024 NFL Draft quarterback class is shaping up to be an all-time group. In 2024, No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels led the Washington Commanders to the NFC Championship Game. In 2025, Caleb Williams (No. 1) led the Bears to the NFC Divisional Round, while Bo Nix (No. 12) led the Broncos to the AFC Championship Game, where he fell just short to Drake Maye (No. 3) and the Patriots.

Unfortunately, Daniels was unable to repeat his rookie success, which he arguably had arguably the greatest rookie season in NFL history. Injuries limited Daniels to seven games, and he finished only four. Naturally, it would be difficult for Daniels to see his peers/classmates reaching the levels he reached in 2024.

However, that’s not how Daniels operates. While the competitive part of Daniels would prefer to be on the field in Sunday’s Super Bowl LX, he’s thrilled for Maye’s succes and the two remain close friends.

“I talk to Drake all the time,” Daniels told Chris Simms of Pro Football Talk on Radio Row this week. “I talk to Drake all the time. I’m super happy for him. What he’s been through in his career, and what he had to deal with last year, now to see him be able to play in this game, one, is nothing but motivation for me, but, too, I’m also super excited for, not just him, but our whole quarterback class that we got and what we could do and hopefully what we could accomplish in the future.”

Daniels also revealed that he frequently talks to Nix, but is in contact with the rest of the 2024 QB class, too. In addition to Williams, Daniels, Maye and Nix, Michael Penix Jr. (Falcons) and J.J. McCarthy (Vikings) were also first-round picks in 2024.

The 1983 quarterback class, featuring John Elway, Dan Marino, and Jim Kelly, is often considered the greatest of all time. There were also six quarterbacks to go in the first round of that draft, too, with the above three becoming Pro Football Hall of Famers.

There’s a long, long way to go, but the 2024 QB class is off to a phenomenal start.
