There haven’t been many New Orleans Saints quarterbacks to receive the rare honor as Mardi Gras royalty; but that’s just what Tyler Shough was chosen for at the Krewe of Pygmalion parade on Saturday evening. The fan-voted NFL Rookie of the Year was selected as Grand Marshal for this year’s Uptown parade after giving fans something to cheer about across nine starts in the 2025 season. It’s sure to be a memorable experience for Shough during his first-ever Carnival season.

“What’s up this is Tyler Shough, we’re here with Pygmalion,” Shough said in a video shared by the team on social media. He turned the camera to show off the parade staging area. “You guys see the floats. We’re gonna be coming into Uptown right now. So excited to do this, appreciate this opportunity. Come check us out.”

Shough didn’t ride alone — he was joined by Saints teammates including Nick Saldiveri, Foster Moreau, Moliki Matavao, Will Clapp, and Erik McCoy. Shough also helped kick off the festivities by leading a “Who Dat” chant with New Orleans mayor Helena Moreno before the parade began to roll. Here are some of the highlights.
