The American tradition filled with food, quirky commercials and a star-studded halftime show takes place in February. This year, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will face off in Super Bowl 60 on Sunday, Feb. 8.

While all eyes are on this year’s Super Bowl, we’re looking ahead to next year when the big game falls on a special holiday. Here’s what to know about the 2027 Super Bowl.

When is the 2027 Super Bowl?

For some couples, the 2027 Super Bowl couldn’t have fallen on a worse date: Feb. 14.

That’s right, the Super Bowl LXI will be played on Valentine’s Day 2027. The Super Bowl takes place the second Sunday in February, as it has since the league shifted to a 17-game schedule in the 2021 NFL season.

Where will the 2027 Super Bowl be played?

The 2027 Super Bowl will once again be played at SoFi Stadium, the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers in Inglewood, California. The stadium, which opened in 2020, hosted Super Bowl LVI on Feb. 13, 2022, when the Rams took down the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.

Where has the Super Bowl been held recently?

Since the most recent Super Bowl at Levi’s Stadium in 2016, the Super Bowl has been held in the following locations:

2018: Minneapolis, Minnesota.

2020: Miami Gardens, Florida.

2022: Inglewood, California.

2025: New Orleans, Louisiana.

2026: Santa Clara, California.
