SAN FRANCISCO (WVUE) – New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough came up short in his bid for Offensive Rookie of the Year, as the award went to Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
The announcement was made Thursday night (Feb. 5) at the NFL Honors ceremony in San Francisco.
Shough was one of the finalists after a strong first season leading the Saints’ offense.
Had Shough won, he would have become just the fourth player in Saints history to receive the honor. The only Saints to win Offensive Rookie of the Year are George Rogers (1981), Rueben Mayes (1986), and Alvin Kamara (2017).
